Plants in eggshells. Planting succulents, flowers or herbs in egg shells is a different and very original way to plant something ordinary into something different and unexpected that will look great indoors or on a window sill!
All you need are eggs, plants, soil and a little spoon!
The bigger the eggs are they easier it will be to plant something in them so I recommend large eggs or goose eggs or even ostrich.
- Open the shells. With the back of a butter knife, carefully tap the pointy top of the egg, just until you create a small crack. Using your fingers, remove bits of the shell from the top until you have a hole big enough to pour out the whites and yolk.
- Clean the shells. Pour out the contents of the eggs (see ideas for using the leftover eggs above!) and set aside. Gently rinse the eggshells out with warm soap and water and set them back into the carton to dry.
- Decorate the shells. At this point you can decorate them with pastel colors, glitter or what you prefere exactly like you would do with easter eggs!
- Fill the shells. Using a small and narrow spoon, fill each eggshell about 3/4 of the way full with potting soil.
- Add the plants. Create a small well in the soil with your finger, gently place theplant into the well, and lightly pack the soil around it.
- Take care of the plants. Immediately give the plant a light spritz of water from a spray bottle and set them in a spot with great natural light.
Piantare delle piante grasse, fiori o erbe aromatiche nei gusci d’uovo è un modo diverso e molto simpatico per piantare qualcosa di ordinario in qualcosa di diverso e inaspettato che starà benissimo dentro casa oppure su un davanzale!
Tutto quello che vi occorre sono uova, piantine, terriccio e un cucchiaino!
Più sono grandi le uova che riuscite a trovare più facile sarà il tutto, quindi consiglio uova grandi oppure uova di oca o addirittura struzzo.
- Aprite le uova. Con il manico di un coltello da burro picchiettate la parte a punta dell’uovo fino a creare un piccola crepa. Con le dita rimuovete pezzetti del guscio fino a creare un buco grande abbastanza per poter svuotare l’interno dell’uovo.
- Pulite i gusci. Capovolgete le uova per far uscire il contenuto. Invece di buttare le uova potete usarli per fare un dolce o una bella frittata! Con delicatezza lavate le uova (anche l’interno) con acqua tiepida e sapone e poi lasciate asciugare.
- Decorate i gusci. A questo punto potete decorare i gusci colorandoli con colori pastello come fareste per decorare le uova per pasqua, oppure con glitter o con qualsiasi cosa preferite… o potete lasciarli dal loro colore naturale. Lasciate nuovamente asciugare.
- Riempiteli. Con un cucchiaino riempite fino a poco più della metà i gusci con il terriccio.
- Aggiungete le piante. Con il dito creare un piccolo buco nel terriccio e aggiungete la piantina. Se occorre potete aggiungere altro terriccio.
- Curateli. Immediatamente bagnate l’interno utilizzando un erogatore a spruzzo e metteteli in un luogo con molta luce naturale.
